Sage at Gardens

Sage , Restaurant and wine bar is located at The Gardens Hotel and Residences. The atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming the minute we stepped in. They do serve vegetarian set menu for their lunch and dinner on Mondays to Saturdays . Cost approx RM170 nett per person. Pricey however the dishes were worth the price. Our evening began with good wine and dishes that satisfied our tastebuds .

There was a long wait between dishes and probably that was the only flaw we could think off. So be prepared to spend time with good company during your meal.

This was a lovely sorbet for pallet cleansing before the main course

Bon Appetite

Khan's Indian Cuisine Bangsar South

Bangsar is famous with abundance of Indian restaurants, from the posh and classy to economical rood side stalls. If you are looking for a nice  new decent place to get Indian food around Bangsar South, head down to Khan's in the Sphere . Strategically located with convenient parking, Khan's offer good food, great ambiance and unforgettable dining experience.

The restaurant is so spacious and well planned, catering for an intimate date night,a small crowd or even a huge company event with their indoor and outdoor tables. Comfort of the diners are definitely well thought of. Glass walls give in natural light, VIP rooms are private and tastefully decorated.

The restaurant have a simple yet classy decorating items depicting all that is Indian.

Chefs from all over India are carefully chosen after stringent interview process and their expertise can clearly be seen in the dishes they whip up.
The menu for vegetarians might not be as extensive as many other Indian restaurants , but i feel its the quality that speaks louder.

We had Bhindi do pyaza , Aloo gobi mutter and Paneer tikka masala from the vegetarian option plus a Paneer platter for appetizer.
The Bhindi ( okra) was amazingly fresh and crisp, aloo gobi had the perfect spice addition and the paneer tikka masala - just amazing.

Paneer Tikka with smooth mint chutney

Apart from this , we ordered several mouth watering non-vege dishes to go with the bread and briyani ( all with thumbs up from my fellow diners) :

Lamb Rogan Josh

Madras Fish Curry

Best cheese naan ever :-)

Try it out and share your experience ...

Mcdonald's Scrambled Egg Sandwich

I'm writing on McD again cause they are back with a new option for meatless folks . If you have not been hiding in a cave in Malaysia, you are bound to see some advert of this all over TV, the highways and radio.
McD have released two new options this time, one with sausage and one without.
Firstly, the pic on their adverts look awesome. Quite a good helping of eggs on a soft bun, and not the muffin bread option previously. We gave this a try yesterday and yes , it was a instant hit.

For RM8.90, you get the Scrambled Egg Sandwich , a hashbrown and tea/coffee. You can choose the RM6.90 option without the hash. Packing was standard McD style. When you unwrap it, looked a bit messy with the cheese and the eggs trying very hard not to drop off the bun.

Inside it looks like they have added some mayo sauce , just the right amount.

And when you bite into them, it was like i hit a home run. The eggs were warm, soft and moist - just how scrambled eggs should be, tasted amazing too.The cheese , bun and mayo complemented the entire ensemble excellently. Will definitely give it another go in the next few weeks.

Go try it and let me know how you feel. Just a note, my hubby tried the scrambled eggs with sausage and said it didn't give him the same impact of the scrambled eggs as my sandwich.

Bon Appetit!!

MILO KEPAL KETAGIH PUCHONG

This one I just found out last week in Puchong. Did not know what Milo Kepal means. The literal translation for this shop is " Milo Lump of Ice Addiction Puchong" . And its really awesome!!

Its basically shaven ice flooded with a sea of Milo sauce. The Milo sauce is apparently made with only Milo and condense milk.  The sheer thickness of the sauce consistency is spot on and makes you just want to lick the entire bowl off. Of course, you need to share this with some one or it might make have a Milo fit. So then be prepared to have a fight off between both of you.

The final product looks thick and yummy , you would want to gobble it , but be patient. Waiting for the ice to melt and drinking it would be your end reward. It is worth it. Having it there costs RM5, take away is RM4.  If you come over to Puchong, dont forget to drop by. Its closed on Mondays, so head down here like I did for a Sunday desert .

Shepherdoo One City USJ

I tried googling up the meaning of this word " Shepherdoo", i just couldn't find it.Definitely originating from the word shepherd, i guess, the 2 guys who founded this restaurant wanted to guide us to some great food and i'm sure they have.

Shepherdoo started off in Klang in 2009 offering Latin American cuisine, and then opened their second in One City couple of years back. We saw their offer on Groupon on decided to try this place out, having rave reviews on their drinks , pizza's and tapas.

They have two floors in case you want open air dining , you can head upstairs.

Deco was simple, with a small bar at the entrance and open view kitchen for us to look at what chefs where whipping up.

My little one took a seat and started counting. First thing she said was, " There is 32 vegetarian dishes!!" Haha, My face was glowing up like a light bulb. Carpe diem!

There were many sections in the menu, so you might get confused if you are a newbie to Latin Food.
They had tapas, which is like starters, ie smaller portions , and funnily they had a section on top that gave" options of what to order" while we are deciding on " what to order".

Look out for all those Green signs. They are all meatless options :-)

In the Tapas, starters and snack section itself, there was so many varieties to choose from, we really didn't know where to start.

We decided on trying out few options, first up : Patatas Bravas ( RM10.90).

It was spicy , tangy but the kids loved it. Something in that dish made put them in the" finger licking good " mood. The potatoes were so well cooked and the spring onions added the necessary crunch and taste.

Next was Nachos and Pizzas. Pizza is one of their signature dish. And indeed it was splendid. It was thin crust , smooth but not crispy. It just slide down the throats faster than a speeding bullet. The kids went," we want more". :-)
We got the Pizza De Mexicana (RM15.90) (Ball peppers and Cheese) and Pizza De Queso( Rm14.50)( Cheese). Both were meatless options.

Nachos ( RM18.50) was really tasty - although not as cheesy and sinful as the ones you get is places like Souled Out, toppings aside, these nachos crisps was one of the best i've tasted. It had a mild "paprika flavour"  and topped with lovely salsa and cheese sauce. They have two options. One is for sharing and one mini option ( Rm12.50)

Apart from these , they have main meals, salads, fajitas and many more meatless options for you to try out.

Ragu ordered the Mexican Buffalo wings ( Rm16.90) and definitely didn't taste the usual. It was smothered with hot sauce but had a soury tanginess to it. Speaking to the restaurant manager, she mentioned that this dish was hit-or-miss item. Some people love that difference in taste. The more conservative shy away. Ragu licked it clean.

To quench our thirst , kids had Choco Banana smoothie and a Berry fizz, while me and Ragu had cocktails and beer.

In my opinion, this is one great place to come if you have vegetarians in your dining party and want to give them lots of choices..

Why don't you try and let me know how it goes...

Bon Appetit!
